Jackson Hole transforms a ski resort trail map into a meditation on American leisure, privilege, and topography. By appropriating the visual language of tourist cartography, GODS MGMT reframes the terrain of adventure as a coded system of access and aspiration. The painting’s hyper-detailed, almost diagrammatic rendering draws on the traditions of Pop Art and conceptual mapping-echoing the logic of Ed Ruscha’s Every Building on the Sunset Strip and Alighiero Boetti’s embroidered Mappa series. Here, the alpine landscape is flattened into symbols, slopes, and lift lines-abstracted not to erase meaning, but to expose the systems that underlie it.

This is landscape not as nature, but as branded experience. The Jackson Hole insignia looms over the canvas like a corporate flag planted on conquest, recalling the rugged idealism of frontier America now mediated through ski passes and luxury chalets. GODS MGMT offers no critique, only the mirror: a perfect, painted document of the way land, culture, and memory are marketed back to us. At once nostalgic and clinical, Jackson Hole is a conceptual postcard from the edges of capitalism and escapism—where the slopes are steep, but the lines of ownership run deeper.
