Green Cities

In “Green Cities,” Jake Hal constructs a dense psychological landscape where geography, memory, and gesture collapse into a single field. The canvas is anchored by an enveloping green ground evocative of chalkboards, sports turf, and the institutional greens of European rail lines onto which the artist inscribes drifting city names: Berlin, Paris, London, United States, each dissolving into semi-legible vapor. These words appear not as destinations but as ghost signals, fragments of lived experience slipping between recollection and imagination.

Hall’s distinctive mark-making, a fusion of Mird’s dream-logic glyphs and Basquiat’s volatile textual architecture, animates the surface with looping chalk-white forms, erased passages, and restless scratches. His scribbled constellations echo Twombly’s epic scrawls, while the thick, almost bruised strokes recall the emotional charge of Rashid Johnson’s Anxiety Lines. Together, these influences converge into a personal cartography part diary, part map, part coded message.

The painting reads like a field report from movement itself: the feeling of airports, tickets, arrivals, departures; the psychic noise of a life stretched across continents. Hall reframes the modern city as a state of mind rather than a physical location, inviting viewers into a world where language becomes landscape and memory becomes architecture.

DELIVERY

We aim to deliver all Artwork within 4 weeks of cleared payment. This window allows for professional archival packing, bespoke framing (where applicable), and specialist courier scheduling. We will notify you of any unforeseen delays.

Shipping: We arrange specialist art couriers for global delivery. Shipping costs and insurance will be quoted separately unless otherwise stated.

International Delivery: Entitled1 acts as the exporter. It is your responsibility to ensure the Artwork can be legally imported into your destination country.

COLLECTION

You may opt to collect your Artwork from our London office by prior appointment. Collection must occur within 14 days of notification that the Artwork is ready.

CANCELLATIONS

For online or telephone purchases only, UK consumers have the right to cancel within 14 days of receipt.

Exclusions: This right does not apply to:

• Artwork purchased or viewed in person prior to purchase.
• Bespoke, commissioned, or personalized pieces (including custom framing).

RETURNS

Artwork must be returned in its original condition and packaging. You are responsible for return shipping costs and must use a specialist art courier. We recommend insuring the return for the full value.

Price is inclusive of shipping and insurance unless otherwise stated.

Do the artworks come with Certificates of Authenticity?

Yes. All of our artworks are accompanied by a relevant, hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity. This verifies the originality of the piece and provides assurance of its provenance.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?

We kindly ask that you inspect your artwork within 48 hours of delivery. If your piece arrives damaged, please notify us within this timeframe and provide clear photographs of both the artwork and the packaging.

We take every possible care to ensure your artwork is packaged securely and arrives in perfect condition. However, in the unlikely event that damage occurs during transit, we will work with you promptly to resolve the issue as quickly and smoothly as possible.
